About Lyn
I love making glass beads.
I graduated from the University of Maryland in 1967 with a degree in Art Education. After teaching, and several false starts in other artistic directions, my husband, Jim (a jeweler & gemologist), and I opened a retail jewelry store in 1975. We owned and operated that store for 16 years, designing and manufacturing most of what we sold. I especially enjoyed creating bead jewelry, using beads we made, and others I collected from around the world. We sold that store in 1991, yet I continued to make bead jewelry.
Glass beads, old and new, fascinated me - their beauty a moment frozen in time. I took a lampworking class in February, 2003. I was shaking at first, afraid of the flame. Suddenly, I past my fear, immersed in a dance with the glass.
I now offer the beads I make to you, each a moment from the dance ... sometimes a tango, other times a waltz. And like the dance, the art of lampworking offers always more possibilities, more moments of discovery.
Thank you for allowing me to do what I love - -- create glass beads.
